The indicator reflects changes in the number of unemployed in the UK for a specified month. The growth trend indicates a weakness in the labor market and has a negative impact on consumer spending and, consequently, on economic growth. The data above the forecast strengthen the GBP, while the data below the forecast put pressure on the national currency. It is expected that the figure will be reduced from 27K to 17.3K applications in March.
